Do these first
  • • Your demo is live on Steam at least 2 weeks before the fest
  • • Capsule is readable at 231×87 and shows the genre
  • • The demo takes 20–60 minutes and ends on a hook with a wishlist prompt
  • • Tested on low-end PCs and Steam Deck, no crash in the first 10 minutes
  • • First 5 screenshots are bright gameplay, not menus or art

How the score is weighted

Items that most affect wishlists during the fest count more: a live demo and a readable capsule weigh 3, store-page and press items 2, and preparation items 1.

Questions

▸When should my demo be live for Next Fest?

At least a couple of weeks before the fest, so press, creators and Steam's systems can find it.

▸Can I join Next Fest more than once?

Each game can take part in one Next Fest.

▸Do I need to livestream during Next Fest?

It's optional but recommended: broadcasting on your store page keeps it lively and is one of the few things you can do during the week.
