Steam Wishlist Calculator
Three questions in one place: what your wishlists are worth in week one, how many you need for your goal, and where your current pace will land you on launch day.
1. Wishlists → first-week sales
2. Revenue goal → wishlists needed
3. Where your pace lands you
Weekly pace bands (developer-shared data): Bronze 0–40, Silver 15–120, Gold 100–700, Diamond 300+ wishlists a week.
The numbers behind the calculator
Conversion: median 0.15× (0.10× above $10), with a low band at half the median and a high band at double. That band covers most indie launches but not the viral outliers.
Net per copy assumes a 10% launch discount, 15% regional pricing loss, 10% average VAT, 6% refunds and Valve's 30% share. Change these in the Steam Fee Calculator if your numbers differ.
Pace bands (wishlists per week before launch): Bronze 0–40, Silver 15–120, Gold 100–700, Diamond 300+.
Questions
▸How many Steam wishlists convert to sales?
GameDiscoverCo's 2024–25 data puts the median first-week conversion at about 0.15 sales per wishlist for games with 25,000+ wishlists, and about 0.10 for games priced above $10. Individual games vary by 10× either way.
▸How many wishlists do I need before launch?
It depends on your goal. Enter the first-week revenue you need and your price; the calculator divides by what you actually keep per copy and by the median conversion.
▸Do wishlists keep converting after week one?
Yes. Wishlisters get emails on every discount, so sales keep coming in later sales. First-week numbers are what affect Steam's launch visibility the most.
▸How much does Next Fest add?
It ranges from a few hundred to tens of thousands of wishlists depending on the demo and the page. Enter your own estimate; check your page with our free checker before the fest.
